Quick Feature Demo

Overview

By default all published WalkInto tours are publicly available on the internet for viewing using its unique URL.  Since WalkInto is mainly used as a digital marketing tool, this public url is acceptable for most customers.  However in some unique use cases it is not uncommon for your customer to request restricted viewing.  For example customer may intend to use the tour for internal training or for a virtual open house for invited guests.  Using the built in Tour Password feature you can now limit access to a tour using a secure password.  In the following video we are walking you through the steps for securing a tour using password.

Once authenticated to a tour system will not demand password from the visitor for 1 hour.  Passwords are encrypted for transmission and saving.  Because we do not save plain text passwords it is not possible to retrieve a password if lost.  You can however easily remove the password protection for that tour or set a new password.

An Example (Use password : flowers ) : https://walkinto.in/tour/bkebrmvM6XWyex-S7DMTm/Flowerpot_Island

The following types of URLs gets protected when you add a password.

  1. Tour preview URL : This is generally used to verify your work while you are building a tour.  Accessible using "human eye" preview icon - editor + dashboard.
  2. Customer Preview URL : This is the URL that you send to a customer for review and approval.  These links are usually valid for 48 hours from the time you create it.  Uniqueness of this URL is that they don't run ads even when free.
  3. Scene Link URLs : Scene links are enhanced links for a tour that deep links into a particular panorama, view and zoom level.  Useful for "Look at this panting.." sort of conversations.
  4. Published URL : This is the permanent URL for a tour that you assign a tour on publishing.  Used for IFRAME embedding, social media sharing and for all practical professional use.
  5. VR Views :  All VR versions of the tour - preview, customer preview and published  URL.

Any one of these URLs that a visitor first accesses, system will demand a password.  On successful authentication any other protected URLs for the same tour will gracefully let the same visitor through without another password demand.  This grace period will end in exactly 1 hour.   At this point system will challenge the visitor to provide correct password again.
